
Charlie Morris
UK Economic Development Counsellor, Central Asia , Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office
Charlie Morris is the UK’s Economic Development Counsellor for Central Asia. He is responsible for His Majesty’s Government’s regional economic development, covering private sector development, capital markets and broader economic growth with a focus on poverty reduction and improved livelihoods. Charlie joined the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office from the Department of Business and Trade, where he was Head of Eastern Europe and Central Asia free trade agreement negotiations, before moving to Johannesburg, South Africa as Head of Trade Policy for Southern Africa.
Charlie holds a Masters Degree in Labour Economics from Cornell University, and is based in the British Embassy, Bishkek.
